When and why did BT withdraw Home Highway?

Home Highway was made unavailable from new sale on 5 September 2005. BT constantly reviews its range of products and services to ensure that they continue to meet the needs of their customers and remain competitive in the market. With the introduction and wider availability of broadband, the demand for the Home Highway product fell and the decision was taken to withdraw it from BT's portfolio in February 2007.

You can easily have your Home Highway service converted, provided your line can support broadband. To check this we need to arrange for an engineer to visit and convert the line back to a standard analogue (PSTN) line so the line can be measured. If the line can support broadband, the order is placed for the service as normal. If it cannot, the line will be converted back to Home Highway at no charge.
