How to use the navigation

The help section uses a finder that has been divided into categories and sub-categories to help navigate through to the relevant answer. The steps are as follows:

  • Step 1: Select a category
  • Step 2: Select a subcategory
  • Step 3: Select an answer you would like to hear about
  • Step 4: Answer preview


How do I change the wi-fi channel on my BT Hub?

We don't recommend manually changing wireless channels on the BT Hubs as this turns off Smart Wireless. When Smart Wireless is on, these Hubs will automatically select the wireless channel with the least interference, changing to a different one if it gets too congested. We suggest you carry out a wireless channel refresh rather than choose a wireless channel manually. This will ensure the BT Hub chooses the best channel available and Smart Wireless will continue to automatically monitor the channels to maintain a good connection.

If you think your wi-fi isn't working as it should, use our wi-fi checklist to help you get the best connection.

If you still want to make sure you're on the best wireless channel, we recommend you do a refresh rather than choosing a wireless channel manually.

This means the BT Hub will always choose the best channel available. And Smart Wireless will automatically monitor the channels to maintain a good connection.
