How to use the navigation

The help section uses a finder that has been divided into categories and sub-categories to help navigate through to the relevant answer. The steps are as follows:

  • Step 1: Select a category
  • Step 2: Select a subcategory
  • Step 3: Select an answer you would like to hear about
  • Step 4: Answer preview


Improve your BT broadband speed

Many of our customers with broadband speed problems find that the steps below help.

  1. If you haven't already, use the troubleshooting wizard to find out if there is a problem with your line speed or something else in your home. We'll also test your speed, and then tell you how to make simple changes to make sure you get the fastest speed possible:

  2. If you can, connect your computer or device with an Ethernet cable rather than using wireless. This will help you understand if you have a wireless problem or a speed problem. If you do think you have a wireless issue, please see: I've got a problem with my wi-fi connection >
  3. Check all the cables are plugged in properly to the Hub and other devices. If you're not sure what plugs in where, please see our quick start guides >
  4. Many of our customers find the BT community forum is a great way of getting help with things like speed. It's easy to get answers to your questions:
